Just over a year after his initial signing for the club, Chris Cheetham returns to Skelmersdale United after departing NPL Premier side Lancaster City.
Cheetham rejoins the club having made 13 appearances for United between January and April 2017. He spent the end of the season on dual-registration at the then National League side Southport.
He moved onto Lancaster City in the close-season, going on to make seven appearances before being sidelined with injury and with his deputy on top form, he made the move away from the Giant Axe. He has previously had spells with Burscough, Ashton United, Nantwich Town, Atherton LR and Radcliffe Borough and is also qualified as a goalkeeping coach.
United manager Dave Powell gave his thoughts on the stopper’s return: “It’s great to have Chris at the club, he contacted me last week and I invited him to train with us. He will be good support and competition for Callum (Roberts) and I couldn’t think of a better person to do that.
“I’m sure they’ll work together well for the rest of the season.”
