Eastleigh have confirmed that goalkeeper Ross Flitney has left the club by mutual consent.
Flitney enjoyed a stint on loan between the Spitfires’ posts in the latter part of 2012, and returned on a fixed deal in February the next year.
A steady presence, the commanding keeper was a key feature of the Eastleigh team which finished the 2012/13 campaign so strongly.
Flitney has Football League experience, most notably with Barnet and Gillingham, the latter of whom he left for Eastleigh.
Other destinations during a well-travelled career have been, Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion, Doncaster Rovers, Yeading, Grays Athletic, Croydon Athletic and Dover Athletic.
Flitney has lost his first-team place at the Silverlake Stadium to recent signing Ryan Clarke and, despite manager Ronnie Moore wanting the 32-year-old to stay, he has decided to seek regular football elsewhere.
