Wrexham AFC have announced the signing of goalkeeper Shwan Jalal.
Thirty-two-year-old Jalal joins Gary Mills’ side after finishing last season with league rivals Macclesfield Town.
Prior to his stint for the Silkmen, the shot-stopper can count Northampton Town, Bury, AFC Bournemouth, Peterborough United, Woking and Tottenham Hotspur as former clubs.
Jalal featured on-loan with other clubs in the Football League such as Morecambe and Leyton Orient.
He started his youth career with Gillingham in 1998 before moving to Hastings Town at the start of the 1999/00 season, where he captured attention while appearing for the first team as a teenager.
Jalal was born in Baghdad, Iraq and represented the Iraqi national team in 2015 as well as gaining five England C caps during the 05-06 season.
Last season he managed to keep fifteen clean sheets in thirty-seven appearances, a 40.5% ratio that made him one of the top four goalkeepers in the division, two of which were ultimately promoted to the Football League.
