Goalkeeper Jay Lynch has agreed a new deal with newly promoted Salford City
Lynch signed for Salford in September 2014, playing his first game for the club at Spennymoor Town.
An impressive performance and a clean sheet were certainly the sign of things to come and by the time he suffered an arm injury in October he had kept six clean sheets in ten appearances.
That injury kept him out of action until the last day of January when Salford overcame Darlington at Moor Lane and true to form the keeper was not beaten.
By the end of that championship season Lynch – with some help from his defenders – had prevented the opposition from scoring in 15 of his 24 games.
That impressive form was carried forward into the current season and he was voted into the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division Team of the Season.
Lynch has made a total of 78 appearances for the club so far and will be looking to make it three promotions in three season as the Ammies prepare for their first Vanarama National League North campaign.
