“The way we’re playing, I can’t see anyone beating us,” said striker Alex Kempster ahead of York City’s trip to Spennymoor Town.

Confidence is high among the Minstermen squad off the back of another win last weekend, and Kempster himself has been in fine form of late.

He got his second goal of term in the 2-0 home win over Leamington, with his first coming in the comprehensive 3-0 victory at Blyth Spartans.

North-East lad Kempster admits that netting against local sides feels just that bit better for him – and Spennymoor, where he spent two months on loan, just about fall into that bracket for him.

“I had a loan spell there last season,” he said. “I really enjoyed it, they’re a good set of lads and will be a good test for us, but the form we’re in, hopefully we can continue that into the next few games and have a clean bank holiday and get six points.

“I want to score whichever team I’m playing against.”
