Kettering Town have reiterated that they will not be participating in any further fixtures this season.
Following the null and void decision last month at Step 2, the Poppies’ National League North campaign officially came to a conclusion.
The decision has left some clubs extremely unhappy, with the possibility of devising a mini-league for those who still intend to carry on spoken about of late.
Kettering, though, have said today: “The board are aware that a number of clubs, in both the North and South divisions, are discussing the possibility of holding an end-of-season competition that could see clubs promoted to the National League.
“Although the matter is being discussed, nothing has yet been confirmed, but the board wish to make it clear that we will not be participating in such an event under the proposed structure. As matters stand, any participation would be at the sole expense of the clubs participating, and in effect, would be financed by debt, which is not an attractive proposition.
“As far as the Poppies are concerned, the current league has been declared null and void by the National League and we now find ourselves waiting for the 2021/2022 season. The club continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as appropriate.”
