Kidlington travel to Thatcham Town tomorrow night in what may be regarded as an Uhlsport Hellenic League title decider
Though with eight games remaining Kidlington manager Martin Wilkinson is having none of the title talk at this stage.
Following the 3-0 victory over Ardley United, Wilkinson said: “I thought today’s victory was another totally professional performance from us, against a good team on a challenging pitch. However, there’s no point talking about a title with eight games remaining because there is still a long way to go.
Our focus now is on Thatcham Town. I know we will be ready on Tuesday and I know we will be ready for each and every one of our remaining fixtures. Each and every fixture is important, so it is more about us than the opposition at this stage.
If we are at our best, I am confident that we can beat anyone.”
On his side’s recent form, Wilkinson added: “It may sound surprising but form is irrelevant at this stage. We have to focus on the future.
All focus is on Tuesday and on Wednesday, all focus will be on Saturday and that will be the cycle from now until the end of the season. Winning this league will demand total focus for the next 3 to 4 weeks and our form will take care of itself if we take care of our future.”
Team news is that Lewis Gabbidon will return to the squad following the completion of his suspension and all other players are fit and available.
