Kidlington travel to Cleethorpes for tomorrow’s FA Vase 5th round tie full of confidence knowing that whatever happens history will be made.
Simon Dickens comments. “There is excellent news for our trip to Northern Counties East League Premier Division Cleethorpes. Eric Odhiambo, Joel Meade, Jack Quainton, Lewis Coyle, Tom Franklin and Lewis Brownhill are all back, fit and rearing to go.
That really is some brilliant news, certainly better that some anticipated and means we are almost totally back to full strength, though our longer term injury victims Mark Flanagan, Ryan Brooks and James McGowan are unfortunately not fit enough and won’t be included in the match-day squad.”
“This is a match that everyone at KFC has been looking forward to for a couple of weeks. As committee and supporters we know in our heart of hearts that if our boys in green can muster a performance like they have shown on many occasions throughout this season then we are a match for anyone, let’s hope Saturday is one of those days.”
“Martin Wilkinson has also been keeping his options open with regard to finding extra players to support our run in to the season and I’m aware of at least one 7 day approach being made. But that’s all for another occasion, at the moment we must all concentrate on this Vase match and I’m sure Wilky will have the players doing just that.”
“KFC will proudly fly the flag not just for Oxfordshire but for the whole of the Uhlsport Hellenic Football League. We are now the soul representative of the league left in this national competition and will travel up to North Lincolnshire with pride in our hearts, whatever happens we’ll all be proud to say we were there”
