Chesterfield have signed recent FC Halifax Town man Jeff King.

The former Bolton Wanderers and St Mirren player was confirmed last week as opting to move on from Halifax after two years with the club.

King, 25, contributed seven goals for Pete Wild’s side last season, including one against Chesterfield in Halifax’s 2-1 away victory in April.

On signing for the Spireites, he told the club’s website: “There is a good feeling around the place and I can’t wait to get started.

“It is a great set-up and I want to help the club get back to the Football League.”
