King’s Lynn Town director of football Robbie Back hailed the predatory instincts of striker Adam Marriott as the Linnets extended their unbeaten run to 14 games in the National League North.

Marriott bagged a first-half brace to set up victory in the north-east before Rory McAuley made sure of the victory early in the second half as Lynn reached the 60-point barrier before the start of February.

The three points preserved Lynn’s four-point gap at the top of the table as Marriott took his league tally to an amazing 28 for the season.

“I’ve never seen a finisher like it at this level,” said Back.

“His finishing is something else and he’s just having such a good season, he really is. He keeps scoring important goals.”
