Scarborough Athletic have announced the appointment of Steve Kittrick as the new first team manager.
Kittrick recently left AFC Telford United in August 2015 after eight months in charge at the Bucks Head, having previously enjoyed six hugely successful years at Guiseley.
He guided the Nethermoor club to the NPL Challenge Cup in 2008/9, two West Riding County Cups and went on to achieve promotion as Champions to the National League North in the 2009/10 season.
This was followed by Guiseley building on their promotion to secure a place in the play-off positions for the next three successive seasons before Steve left the club in September 2013.
Steve has also enjoyed success of Ossett Town whilst they were in the NPL Premier Division.
Boro Chairman Dave Holland was delighted to bring Steve onboard:
He said: “I’m over the moon to bring someone of Steve’s calibre into the club and that he can see the potential that Scarborough Athletic has. Our fans want the side playing with belief and confidence again and I believe Steve can help us achieve that.
“I’ve been gobsmacked by the 59 applications we have received over the last couple of weeks. Also when a senior player like Chris (Bolder) suggested I speak to Steve then I didn’t hesitate to get in contact with him.”
“The Board has taken its time to make this appointment to make sure we got the right candidate for the situation we are in and a plan for what we need, and we believe Steve is the exactly the right man for that.”
