Evo-Stik Northern Premier League leaders Blyth Spartans have completed the signing of Darlington forward Wilson Kneeshaw.

Kneeshaw, a product of the famous Middlesbrough academy, joined the Quakers during the summer, after a spell in Romania’s Liga 1 with ASC Poli Timisoara and a short stop at SkyBet League One side Barnsley.

And Kneeshaw is happy to be part of the setup at Croft Park, telling the Spartans official website “I’m delighted to sign for the club and really looking forward to getting started with my Spartans career. The club are obviously doing well in the league and I’m hoping I can help the Spartans continue this good run.”

Manager Tom Wade feels that the addition of Kneeshaw to his squad is a timely one.

“I’m delighted to get Wilson on board, he had a great game in the League Cup and he gives us options up front. The timing of the signing is also helpful with Nipa (Dan Maguire) and Sean Reid carrying knocks”.

Kneeshaw could make his debut for the club in Saturday’s home fixture against Rushall Olympic
