Laurence Revell has informed Potton United of his intention to resign as first-team manager due to increased work and personal commitments.

The United Counties club have moved quickly to confirm Steve Kuhne as the new manager with immediate effect, with his management team to be in post in the near future. Also leaving the club is Revell’s assistant, Graham Hager, and coach, Kevin O’Sullivan.

Chairman Alan Riley said: “Laurence has done a brilliant job of taking over the team from Darren Staniforth and for making a number of changes that has put the club in a better position to compete at the top of this division. I wish him, and the others, all the very best in whatever they choose to do next.”

Club football manager Darren Staniforth commented: “I took a call from Laurence, Wednesday, where he made his intentions clear. I wanted Laurence to think about this and talk to his management team before making the final decision.

“Laurence has put everything into this job and I thank him for his commitment. Alan and I met with Steve and it was clear that he was excited by the prospect of being Potton United’s manger.

“We were able to agree his availability and believe getting him in as soon as possible is the right thing to do.”
