Cammell Laird 1907 are looking for a new Chairperson to replace current Chairman, Frank Games, who is stepping down at the end of the season.

“I have been the chairman for the past five and a half years, but it has come to the stage where the club needs fresh impetus to move forward”, said Frank.

“It needs someone with the skills, the knowledge and the contacts to develop the club over the next few years. The end of this season is therefore a good time for me to take a step back and stand down.”

The outgoing Chairman was in reflective mood on his time at the club.Cammell Laird 1907

“It has been an up and down five and a half years. When I first came, we were in the Evo-Stik Division One North. We had a great time as we finished league runners-up in 2013, and while it was disappointing to miss out on promotion by a penalty shoot-out, it may have been a blessing in disguise.

“We found ourselves having to effectively disband and reform as Cammell Laird 1907 in the summer of 2014, and as 1907 we have made some decent progress, getting promoted to the NWCFL Premier Division in our first season. Now is the time to look to the future.”

He was also keen put on record how attractive the post is as the club moves forward.

“It is an exciting time for the club, and we are looking for a new person to take over as we look to develop the club across all the different age groups.

“For example, we have just started a development centre aimed at under 6s, led by Dave Taylor, whilst we are also seeking to develop our girls‘ section to include a youth level as well as continuing to get more boys teams on board.

“The main focus remains on the First Team, as the club need leadership, direction and someone with the skills to bring in the right people to take the club forward.”

As the Chairman prepares to leave his role, he steps down with a clear message for the officers and volunteers behind the scenes. “I’d like to thank everyone at the club for their help and support. I wish each individual all the best for the future and hope to still have a role to play.”
