Centre back Jack Lane became Tamworth’s third new recruit ahead of the 2016/17 season last week.

Lane spent last season with local rivals Nuneaton Town.

He had spent time playing in the USA prior to joining Ilkeston, and then followed Kevin Wilson to Nuneaton Town ahead of the 2015/16 season. The 23 year old lives locally, and has excellent experience at National League North level, as well as being named in the England C squad in the past.

Assistant Manager Mike Fowler commented on the signing of Lane. “I think taking a player off our big rivals is a big thing for us and he has the ability to be a great player for us next year. His desire to succeed is fantastic and we see him as someone we can work with, we can improve and he has got the potential to move on and play even higher.”
