Kelvin Langmead has expressed his satisfaction at agreeing an extended stay with Banbury United.

The ex-Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town defender will also manage the club’s women’s team.

Speaking to the club’s website, the former Peterborough United man said:

“I really enjoyed my time last season. It’s a great changing room, full of good honest lads, and I wanted to remain part of that.

“The gaffer (Andy Whing) is ambitious and it’s a club that wants to progress. So as soon as last season was finalised, I let the gaffer know I was keen to stay.

“Thankfully, he wanted the same, so it was a nice, easy process that got sorted very quickly.”
