Bob Laslett has stepped down as Chairman of Vanarama National League South club Margate.
The move was announced on Thursday afternoon, as the club released a statement confirming that director John Webb would be taking over as chairman.
The statement read “Margate Football Club director John Webb has taken over as Chairman of MFC as Bob Laslett has decided to pass the baton onto a younger person. John has been very much involved in the club for past 2 years, especially with the Youth Section. He is the ideal person to take on the role of Chairman and take the club forward”
It was also confirmed that Ivan Laslett would also be leaving the club, with Chief Executive Chris Pope also filling the role of Vice-Chairman.
The statement continued “Ivan Laslett has also decided to step down in favour of someone younger. Chris Pope will take over the role of Vice Chairman whilst continuing as Chief Executive.
John and Chris who between them have many years’ experience in business and football management will make an excellent team to lead the club positively forward and realise further success”
