Nantwich Town boss Phil Parkinson has strengthened his squad further with the addition of exciting striker Sam Cosgrove, who is joining the club on loan from Wigan Athletic.

The highly regarded 20-year-old scored 22 goals in 21 games for the under 21’s and has so far made 5 appearances as part of the first team squad.




Commenting on the clubs new player the manager, Phil Parkinson, said: “I have stated on many occasions, the pride I have in this current squad of players as they are a pleasure to work with and are doing the club, it’s supporters and the Town proud, in what is turning out to be an exciting season for everyone.

“But as we enter the final few months, I want to ensure that we have the strength in depth to carry on competing and entertaining right up until the final game and I am sure that Sam will enhance what is already a great team.

“He is big, mobile and hungry, with great ability and I am sure that he will make a telling contribution to our efforts and for our part, we will work hard to hopefully help him and Wigan with his further development.”
