Chester FC have signed midfielder Danny O`Brien on a month`s loan from League One side Wigan Athletic.

O`Brien signed on loan for Wrexham in November until last month and made four appearances.

Earlier this season, the 19-year-old had featured in all three reserve league games for the Latics against the Reds.

The Leigh-born player moved to the DW Stadium in the summer of 2015 following his release from Aston Villa, signing a one-year professional contract after a trial period with the club during pre-season.

He’s a winger with an eye for goal, having scored four in six starts for the Wigan Development Squad this season – including twice against Wrexham – both being late winners in league and cup games at Colliers Park.

When at Villa Park, he earned a cap for England at under-17 level.
