Tunde Owolabi has agreed a contract with FC United, having turned down a chance to join National League side Chorley.
Owolabi is the top goalscorer in this season’s BetVictor Northern Premier League Premier Division, with 11 goals.
FC United say that the club has taken the decision this season to only offer contracts ‘in very specific circumstances where players met a number of criteria.’
Owolabi told the club’s website: “Since day one when I came to FC United I’ve felt at home, and the support I’ve had from the manager, the coaching staff, the team and the fans has been incredible. It’s allowed me to settle down and play my football and I’m just happy to be part of this family.
“Everyone is going in the right direction and I want to be part of where this club is going, I want to help this club continue to do well, to score goals and to win games and hopefully push on, because we can do something special this season.”
