Leamington have said that the club will not be pursuing the prospect of continuing the current league season.

With the National League North and South campaign called to an early conclusion last month, some clubs have been lobbying for a new competition format to enable them to complete the season.

Leamington have said this morning: “There are discussions ongoing between the National League and National League North/South clubs regarding a new competition to complete season 2020/21, with a proposal being forwarded to the FA Alliance Committee for decision by them this coming week.

“Having fully considered the options, we have advised the National League that we do not wish to be considered for participation.

“All focus of the club is now targeted towards addressing our financial situation to ensure we are in the best place possible for season 2021/2022.

“We thank all fans, volunteers, sponsors and advertisers for your continued support and look forward to seeing you all in the summer.

“In the meantime, keep safe.”
