Enfield Town manager Andy Leese has expressed his disappointment at Ralston Gabriel’s departure from the club.
Speaking to the Towners website he said “There have been a few changes to the squad this week as we look to settle things down. Ralston Gabriel informed me yesterday that he wanted to return to play for Haringey. It is disappointing, as Ralston was someone we felt we could work with, but it was his choice.
“Robbie Rees will also leave the club this week. It hasn’t quite worked out with Robbie as well as we might have expected and, with Aaron Greene coming in, we felt his opportunities to play would be limited. We wish both players well. It means opportunities for other players to step up and, with Ryan Blackman and Mario Noto back this weekend, we won’t be short of options.
“It is of course not ideal to have players leaving, but given the summer we have had recruiting a new squad, it’s perhaps inevitable that some changes will occur as we finalise how we want to play. The dressing room is in really good spirits despite our slow start to the season, and there is lots of work going on to improve things as we get used to the players, and they get used to us.
“On the management side, goalkeeping coach Richard Hayward has told us he wants to return to Cheshunt, one of his former clubs. So we will be looking to bring someone in this week to work with Joe Wright and Matt Nolan.
“I look forward to seeing you at Tooting and against Harlow this coming weekend”
