Leiston chairman Andy Crisp has given an impassioned plea to Blues fans to get behind the club – and help them balance the books this season – and going forward.
While stressing Leiston FC are under no threat financially, Crisp would like to see the ambition of the club’s Financial Board, and the club as a whole, matched with improved attendances and more local backing.
”While I sympathise with others, I feel it’s time we look at our own club and be a little more open with our current situation by way of finances,” Crisp said.
”It’s a well-known phrase in football that the supporters expect continued success and club progression and losing is never an option.
“Our Financial Board and committee have realised that and have shown ambition in abundance to make sure we deliver and realise fans’ dreams.
“However, in my opinion the ambition shown by the club needs to be matched by the supporters. So, my plea is that we need support in helping us raise a considerable amount of money to help us balance the books for the rest of the season.”
