Manager James Rowe believes that keeping a level head is key to Chesterfield’s promotion chances this season.
The Spireites have had a dramatic upturn in fortunes since the arrival of the former Gloucester City boss in late-November.
A recent hiccup in form has stopped Town breaking into the play-off places, but they remain only six points away.
Rowe told the club’s website:
“Wins and losses can’t affect the mindset. We have to be consistent in our behaviour and I think we are getting there.
“Let’s take a step back, we have come such a long way. We are nearly averaging two points a game, right on the cusp of that and that’s promotion form.
“Seven games left, if we accumulate the same number of points [as the first 18 games of Rowe’s tenure], we won’t be far wrong.”
