After his impressive debut on Saturday against Canvey Island, Lewes boss Darren Freeman has managed to pull off a real coup in persuading Jonté Smith to sign terms for the rest of the season.
Talking after the Bermudian International had put pen to paper on Monday night, Darren said “Players of Jonté’s quality do not become available very often in Non League circles so I wanted to move quickly to secure him for the rest of the season.
The fans saw on Saturday what he is capable of and I’m sure there’s more of that to come. I’d also like to thank the board for supporting me in this opportunity.”
Jonté will be hoping the only way is Essex again at Billericay Town on Saturday after his Man of the Match performance against Canvey Island.
