Hereford FC boss Peter Beadle has confirmed that Jordan Liburd will wear the captain’s armband for the 2018/19 National League North campaign, with Ryan Green named as vice-captain.

Speaking to the official website, Beadle said: “Jordan epitomises what we’re asking for, his manner on and off the pitch is superb, his performances are hugely consistent and since he’s been here he’s gained more and more respect from the players, they look up to him.

“I don’t think we could have picked a better captain.”

Beadle also confirmed a new vice-captain for the new season “Jordan will be joined by Ryan as vice-captain, Jordan will be able to use Ryan’s shoulder to lean on, to pick his brains on being a captain, about the role of being a captain.”

Writing in his programme notes for the official matchday programme this coming Saturday, Liburd said: “I’m very proud to be given the armband, Hereford is a big club and it’s a great opportunity for me to captain such a big team. I see it as a big responsibility, and hopefully, I can lead the boys onto another successful season.”
