Lincoln City have completed the signing of Boreham Wood goalkeeper Grant Smith on a two-year deal.
Smith has been an ever-present in the Boreham Wood goal over the last two seasons since his arrival from Bognor Regis. He has started over 100 consecutive games for The Wood, which included every game in the 2016/17 and 17/18 season where Luke Garrad’s side reached the National League Play-Off Final.
Smith had been invited on a three-day training camp with England C in October last season, and earned his first call-up shortly after. The 24-year-old becomes City’s fourth summer signing, following the arrivals of Bruno Andrade, Harry Toffolo and Michael O’Connor.
Boss Danny Cowley said: “He has a fantastic attitude and has a real desire to improve and get better and he’s going to make it a really good fight for the number one spot.
“That’s what we want, we want competition in all places, that competition is so important. What Grant has done has taken a monumental effort, and you often find that when people get an opportunity like this they really value it and I’ve got no doubt he’ll make the most of it.”
