Kings Lynn Town boss Gary Setchell has been busy in the transfer market and has completed the loan signing of Northampton Town midfielder Shaun McWilliams.

18 year old McWilliams joins the Linnets on a youth loan deal and will go straight into the squad for tonight’s big local derby against Cambridge City.

Setchell said, “I had a look at Shaun in pre-season and I liked what I was seeing, Shaun will come to the club to boost the squad numbers and more importantly get some much needed game time.

“My business won’t stop there as 7 day approaches have gone in for a defender and a winger. Changes need to be made and I’m working my socks off to get the correct players in.

Cobblers manager Rob Page told the official Northampton Town site

“I felt Shaun did well during pre-season,”

“He has been unfortunate but we have some tough competition for places in central midfield, especially with Jak McCourt returning to fitness.

“I feel Shaun will benefit from playing regular first team football, he will gain experience that will help his development and we have a recall option on him if required.

“I am sure he will do a good job for King’s Lynn and we look forward to monitoring his progress during this loan spell closely.”
