Guiseley AFC have signed defender Connor Brown, who was released by League One side Oldham Athletic late last month.

The 24-year-old started his career with Sheffield United as a junior before signing a professional contract in the summer of 2011.

Whilst at Bramall Lane, Brown had loan spells in non-League football with Eastwood Town and Hinckley United.

However, after failing to make the breakthrough into the Blades senior team, he was released in the summer of 2012.

He was signed by Oldham on an initial one-year deal in August 2012, but that deal was extended after he became a first-team squad regular at Boundary Park.

He totalled 101 appearances for the Latics, plus a further eight on loan at Carlisle United, before being released at the end of August.
