Armani Little described it as “the best experience I’ve had in football” as his stunning free-kick goal took Woking back up to the National League at the first attempt.
The bitter disappointment of relegation to National League South last season was brushed aside on a tide of emotion at Kingfield on Sunday (May 12) in the play-off final amid glorious celebratory scenes as the Cards had edged past opponents Welling United 1-0.
“I’m speechless,” said Little, on loan from Oxford United but out of contract this summer.
“With the free-kick, I knew I could do it as I was confident, as I did it a few weeks back.
“It’s amazing and it’s the best experience I’ve had in football. To score a winner in a play-off final, you can’t write it, I’m buzzing. I love the club and have had a great time.”
