FC United of Manchester central defender Sam Baird has gone out on loan to Droylsden until December and central midfielder Scott Kay has left the club.
Baird, who featured regularly in the starting 11 at the start of the season, has joined Droylsden on loan until December to gain match fitness.
Midfielder Scott Kay however has left the club on a permanent basis. The former FC captain returned to the squad for a short stint after the team was injury hit in the middle of the park and struggling for numbers.
On the departure of Kay, Interim Manager David Chadwick said: “Scott came to me a few weeks back and said he wasn’t enjoying his football and wanted to stop playing. He made the point he wouldn’t leave there and then as we were struggling with injuries in midfield, so he agreed to stay until we had the numbers back.”
“Considering he didn’t want to play football he put some great performances in and deserves credit for helping the team out on his return to the squad. I want to personally say thank you to Scott for all the effort he has put in during his time at the club.”
