Forward Danny Carter has joined Toolstation Western League Premier side Longwell Green Sports from Oldland Abbotonians.

Carter decided he wanted to play for his friend Mitch Hodge, who has now taken over to see if his goals can save them from relegation.

Speaking about the departure, Oldland Abbotonians manager Scott Armstrong said: “It’s a shame that Danny has decided to leave us having got himself fitter and back into the first team fold. I’d like to thank Danny for his time here at the club.

“He has great ability and if he can get himself fully fit then there is no reason why he won’t play higher. I couldn’t offer him the money or playing time Longwell Green are prepared to so there was no point in trying to persuade him to stay and I wish him well.”
