Dorchester Town’s Billy Lowes has signed a new one-year contract for the 2019/20 season.
The midfielder – a near ever-present figure in The Magpies side during the last campaign having started 49 of our 53 fixtures – put pen to paper on the deal before the End of Season Awards Night on Friday where he was presented with the Supporters’ Player of the Season award.
Lowes – who is now just two appearances shy of his 100th in a Magpies shirt – said: “I’m happy to have signed for another season. Dorchester is a great club to be at and under Callum I believe we can push on next season. We have the quality as we have shown that, it’s just about being consistent, so we have pre-season to work on a few things ready to hit the ground running start of August.”
Speaking on his latest signing, manager Callum Brooks said: “Billy has developed a real affinity for the club over his time here, and more importantly, he’s one that is really keen to stay and be part of what we are doing. He’s another lad that’s been here a little while now and he’s a consistent performer who is getting better the more games he plays. He has also developed his leadership skills last year and the more of that we have around the club the better.”
“So it’s another one where I look at it and it’s a no-brainer – it’s good business, and I’m looking forward to continuing the positive relationship that I’ve got with Billy which started when I first met him as a 15/16-year-old.”
