Altrincham have now signed Chris Lynch from Salford City, subject to FA and League approval, and the versatile defender is in contention for a debut at Darlington 1883 on Saturday.
Despite some reports yesterday that Lynch had joined Alty for a second time, the deal was only completed earlier this evening (Thursday). As with all transfers, the club will only announce a move once the player concerned has signed the relevant forms.
This has now been done, and Lynch trained with his new team-mates this evening, in the hope of convincing manager Matt Doughty he is ready to play a part against promotion-chasing Darlington.
A tough-tackling defender, he was utilised as a right-back and also as a centre-back in his previous spell in Alty colours, the latter being a position in which he was often used by Salford. He can also play as a midfield anchor man.
