Macclesfield Town have completed the signing of winger Jack Mackreth.

The 24-year-old has agreed a one year deal with the Silkmen and joins on a free transfer from fellow National League side Tranmere Rovers.

Mackreth is of course no stranger to the Moss after a two year spell with the Silkmen between 2012 and 2014. In total he made 90 appearances in all competitions and became a real favourite amongst the Moss Rose faithful.

His performances saw him attract interest from elsewhere and in the summer of 2014, Jack made the switch to Grimsby Town. After having made almost 60 appearances in all competitions Jack left The Mariners in 2016 and returned to Tranmere Rovers, the side where he had started his career.

He made eight appearances for Rovers, the majority from the bench before leaving at the end of the 2015/16 campaign and making his return to the Silkmen.

The winger, who has also had a spell with Barrow in his career, will now be reunited with former boss John Askey and will look for another impressive spell at the Moss.
