Chorley have added a couple of new defenders to their squad.

Joining on a month`s loan from National League side Macclesfield Town is Dan Cowan.

Local lad Cowan came through the Silkmen’s youth team to earn a place in the first team for the 2014/15 season.

A 20-year-old defender who is comfortable either on the right or in the centre of defence, Cowan made his professional debut in the final game of the 2013/14 season and began to feature regularly for the Silkmen in the back end of 2015.

He has since been a regular in and around the Macclesfield side and has now made over forty appearances in a Silkman shirt.

Also joining the Magpies is Louis Coyne from Hallmark Security League Premier Division side Runcorn Town.

The defender came through the ranks at League One side Rochdale where he rose up to the youth team where he was a regular last season.

He joined Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North outfit Burscough at the start of this season in order to gain experience, but having failed to break into the team at the Linnets, has opted to join Runcorn in September.
