Maidenhead United have signed former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international forward Shamir Fenelon.
Fenelon – who played the last three seasons with National Leaguers Aldershot Town – has plenty of EFL experience. Starting out at Brighton & Hove Albion, his career has taken him to Torquay, Rochdale, Dagenham, Tranmere and Crawley. He now joins the Magpies ahead of their third season in the National League.
Chief Scout Lee Devonshire is delighted to make another early move in the transfer market following the signing last weekend of Henry Landers from North Leigh: “Shamir is someone who we have liked for a while now. He has experience of playing in the football league with the likes of Crawley and he was a key ingredient in the Aldershot team that finished in the playoffs the season before last.
“He can play anywhere along the front three positions, has pace, power and is capable of scoring and creating goals. He is the right age and fits the profile of the type of player we are looking to bring in this summer to join the existing members of the group.”
