Jay Saunders apologised to travelling Maidstone fans after a damaging defeat at Solihull last night.
United lost 1-0 and are only three points clear of the National League relegation zone after Barrow beat Eastleigh. The Cumbrians also have two games in hand.
Maidstone produced arguably their worst performance of the season and have only three games to save themselves.
Boss Saunders said: “The fans were good tonight. They stayed behind and we made sure we went over to see them and I can only apologise because at the moment we’re not scoring goals and as a supporter that’s what you come to football for, to see goals. We need them on our side.”
