Maidstone United have extended the loan of Ross Lafayette.

The striker completed his initial spell with the Stones at the weekend but after discussions with Sutton boss Paul Doswell, the deal has been extended to the end of the season. Dean Beckwith, who was also on loan from The U’s, has returned to Gander Green Lane.

Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “I am delighted to have Ross here until the end of the season. The more game time he gets, the more we’ll see from him.

“I would have liked to have kept Dean too but that’s the way it goes with loans. Dos has been great to let us keep Ross and I’ve got options at the back with Alex Wynter and Josh Hare.”

Lafayette will be unavailable to play against his parent club on Saturday but comes into contention for next Wednesday’s match against league leaders Macclesfield Town.
