Charlie Wassmer has extended his loan at Maidstone United from Woking by a month.
The 27-year-old defender has been a mainstay of Simon Walton and Tristan Lewis’ caretaker reign, playing in every minute of their three games in charge so far. Co-caretaker manager Simon Walton commented on the deal:
“Wassa has been a very important player for me and Tristan. On the pitch he has put in authoritative, commanding performances and similarly off the pitch his character and leadership have shone through.
“He has been fantastic in looking after a young back four and is the type of character we need to get out of the situation we find ourselves in at the moment.”
Wassmer’s loan runs up to and including the home game against FC Halifax Town on February 2, and he is available to participate in games in both the Buildbase FA Trophy and Kent Senior Cup.
