Maidstone United have confirmed that Chris Lewington has been retained for the 2019-20 season.

Initially signed as a coach and backup to Dion-Curtis Henry in February, an injury to the Crystal Palace loanee thrusted Lewington into first-team action. The 30-year-old impressed, performing well in the league and propelling the Stones to the Kent Senior Cup title thanks to his penalty shootout exploits against Gillingham and Bromley.

Lewington will resume his player/goalkeeper role at the club, working with Jake Cole while also pushing the former Aldershot stopper for the number one shirt.
