Maidstone United have signed young goalkeeper Josh Strizovic from Billericay Town.

A product of Braintree Town’s youth system, Strizovic featured on the bench for the Iron as a 16-year-old before joining Burnham Ramblers in the Essex Senior League in the summer of 2017. Aged just 17, he went on to play a full season in the first team for Burnham, winning the players’ and manager’s player of the year awards at the end of the season.

His impressive form for The Ramblers saw Harry Wheeler bring him to Billericay in the 2018 close season, and the Stones boss has moved again to move the 6’3″ stopper to the Gallagher Stadium.

Following his signing at the club, fellow goalkeeper Matt Funnell has been released.
