Maidstone signed Faversham goalkeeper Simon Overland before the National League transfer deadline.

United agreed a dual-registration deal for Overland to join his hometown club at the age of 31.

The big keeper is first choice at the Bostik South club but Lilywhites boss Ray Turner allowed United to sign him as cover for the ever-present Lee Worgan.

Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “We’ve signed Simon Overland on dual-reg from Faversham. Ray Turner’s been good enough to let us have him.

“He’s first choice there but I’ve got a really good relationship with Ray. I said to him I was struggling to get a keeper and I wanted one with a little bit of experience and he said, ‘Look, get Simon to sign the paper, dual-reg, and we can look at it from there.'”
