Gavin Cowan is confident his AFC Telford United reign will be a success but is under no illusions about the challenge ahead.

The 37-year-old is readying for his first season in management – taking charge after a couple of years at the club as a coach. Having also had a two-year spell with the Bucks as a player, from 2008 until 2010, he is determined to make fans proud and avoid another relegation scrap.

“It’s a manic time, a massive job, I know it’s a challenge,” said Cowan. “I’m not starry-eyed, but I’m very passionate about bringing the club back to where it belongs.

“I hope the community can come out and back us. I’ve heard a few, who had not been coming for a couple of years, have bought season tickets – that’s the stuff we want to hear.

“Let us prove that we’re really passionate, we really want to make a big success out of this. It’ll be successful, I know it will.”
