Mansfield Town have announced the signing of striker Jamie Reid following his departure from Torquay United.
It was announced early in May by Gulls manager Gary Johnson that Reid was set to depart in search of an opportunity in the EFL. The 25-year-old joins the Stags having scored 78 goals in 144 games for Torquay, playing a huge role in their promotion back to the National League last year.
Mansfield boss Graham Coughlan told the club’s website: “Jamie is an exciting prospect. He is young, fit and gives us great mobility.
“He knows where the net is and is a proven goalscorer. We have been tracking him for some time and he is a player who the fans will really take to.
“He is desperate for an opportunity at a higher level.”
