Margate have announced the signing of 24-year-old full-back Danny Fitzsimons.
Fitzsimons started his career at Millwall before being released in 2011.
The left-back then joined Yeovil Town where he stayed for five months before joining Histon.
It was at Histon where Fitzsimons enjoyed his most successful time as of yet as he featured for two seasons before being snapped up by League Two Luton Town.
While contracted to Luton, Fitzsimons spent time out on loan at Bishop`s Stortford but never made an appearance for the Hatters after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury.
After his release from Luton he joined Dartford last season where he featured in the National League South and manager Nikki Bull is delighted to sign up another player of Danny’s quality.
“Danny was in the process of building a really good career when he got his move from Histon to Luton but he was really unlucky with an injury.
“Danny has worked hard to get back to full fitness and is the type of player that we want now at Margate, young, hungry and passionate to do well.”
Margate have also announced that Football Community officer Joe Rowland has signed a non-contract with the first-team after impressing during a trial with the club last season.
Rowland, 19, plays in midfield and will form part of Bull’s squad ahead of the new season as well as securing further ties in the local community during the week.
