Margate boss Jay Saunders has spoken of the need to add attacking players to the squad following a tough start to the campaign.

The Gate are currently 20th (of 22) in the Isthmian Premier Division, with six points from eight games.

Saunders told the club’s website: “It’s something we identified very early on and it’s clear after eight league games we need to recruit some attacking players to our squad. It’s something we have been working on, we’ve been extremely close to getting deals over the line, and I’m hopeful we may have some new recruits soon.

“The boys have shown glimpses and performances for us to build upon and we will work hard on the training ground to gel things whilst looking for those right additions.”
