Leek Town’s game at Basford on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Mill Street Playing Field with only four games going ahead in the First Division South whilst only 9 games survived the weather across the three Evo-Stik divisions.

Following Saturday’s games, Blues remain in 8th position in the table but are just three points off the final play-off place with three games in hand over Spalding United.

Commenting on the postponement, Blues’ boss Lee Casswell said, “I’m obviously disappointed we’ve lost another fixture due to the weather but we got in a training session at Bentilee Discovery Centre although the conditions were very poor.

“Before the weather intervened we were in a good run of form and that makes Tuesday’s home game against Market Drayton vitally important.

“Over the next two games we are looking to pick up maximum points to keep us on track for the play-off places and so we need a big effort to get these games on.

“I’ve had a look at the pitch this morning (Sunday) and so far it’s playable but we are now reliant on the weather,” he added.
