Marlow Football Club have agreed to a three-year ground share agreement with Marlow United Football Club, which will take effect 1st August 2018.
The arrangement will be beneficial to both teams. The benefits to Marlow United, who currently play in the Thames Valley Premier League, are obvious while United will provide support to Bostik Isthmian League side Marlow FC, both on and off the field of play.
Marlow FC Director Ian Benfell said “We are very pleased to welcome Marlow United to our historic stadium on Oak Tree Road. This is a positive step that will bring many benefits to both clubs. We look forward to welcoming the officials, players and supporters of Marlow United and to developing a very successful relationship.”
Marlow United Chairman Alan Turner said “For United this is an historic landmark and something we have been seeking for many years. While there are clear benefits to United, not least a ground that will be the envy of whoever we compete against, there are also many benefits that Marlow will enjoy, both financially and pragmatically, as the agreement evolves. The current agreement is 3 years, but we hope to be here for the long term as together both clubs can only become stronger.”
He went on further to say “With both clubs drawing ever closer together we also hope to help Marlow FC establish the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground not only as the football hub in the town but a focal point for the local community. These are exciting times and with goodwill on both sides, I can only see a successful time ahead for both clubs.”
The ground share agreement is subject to approval from both Leagues.
