Merthyr Town have put in an official seven day approach to re-sign former player Adam Davies from EVO-STIK League Southern rivals Hereford.

The Bulls confirmed on Monday that the Martyrs had put in an official seven day approach for the full-back, pictured, who wasn’t in their squad for Saturday’s 4-0 win for the runaway EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West leaders at Bridgwater Town.
The 22-year-old, who was Merthyr’s player of the year last season and joined Hereford last month, was also an unused substitute for Hereford’s previous win over Shortwood United.

Hereford manager Peter Beadle told the on Monday: “Adam Davies wasn’t in the squad on Saturday but at the moment he’s still a Hereford player. He wasn’t well, so wasn’t in the squad, but we just get on with it and move on.”

The defender joined the Martyrs in summer of 2014 before playing a key role in the Penydarren Park club’s championship-winning season. A product of the Cardiff City academy, he won the Welsh League Division 1 title with Monmouth in 2013-14.
